Carissa Rollins is the chief information officer (CIO) at Illumina (NASDAQ: ILMN). Illumina is the leading developer and manufacturer of sequencing and array technologies and offers life science tools and integrated systems for large-scale analysis of genetic variation and function.
As CIO, Ms. Rollins is responsible for leading all global information systems strategy, operations, risk and compliance, infrastructure, enterprise architecture, cybersecurity, employee and business-facing applications. Ms. Rollins utilizes her strong technical skills and experiences to continue to build upon her high-performance teams – challenging them to lead, innovate and deliver continually – ensuring that key stakeholders have a continually improved experience with IT services and support. She focuses and leverages relationships and networking along with technology and business leadership development and mentoring both internally and in the community.
Before joining Illumina, Ms. Rollins was the CIO at UnitedHealthcare. There she was responsible for the strategy, roadmap and technology investments in support of the commercial, Medicare and retirement and government programs technology business portfolios at UnitedHealthcare. Before UnitedHealthcare, Ms. Rollins held the positions of executive and senior roles at Gander Mountain at Kohl’s Corporation, Manpower Global and Miller-Coors.
Ms. Rollins serves on the Board of Directors for YWCA Minneapolis and is currently the board chair. She also serves on the Grand Canyon Conservancy board and the T-Mobile advisory board. Ms. Rollins holds a Bachelor of Science in management information systems and an MBA from Marquette University.
When not working, Ms. Rollins can be found enjoying the scenery of Minnesota with her spouse and two children.
