Cheryl Cooper Boyd is a self-employed educational and organizational consultant. For over 30 years she worked in the nonprofit arena assisting organizations with strategy, organization and implementation efforts. She retired from The Blake School as director of financial assistance and assistant director of admissions in 2014. During her tenure, the school doubled its commitment to economic diversity and broadened the range and scope of its commitment to pluralism. Prior to moving to Minnesota, she served as executive director of the Vocational Information Program, a career counseling, guidance, mentoring and tutoring program for over 200 at-risk Cleveland Public School students annually and vice president, operations and administration of Ohio Works/Cleveland Works, a welfare-to-work initiative of the State of Ohio.
Ms. Cooper Boyd served two terms on the board of trustees of her alma mater, Bucknell University, and as a member of the Bucknell Alumni Board. She is a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. and has served at the local, regional and national levels for over 30 years. Passionate about injustice, equity and social responsibility, she served on the sorority’s National Social Action Commission for two terms. She currently serves on the sorority’s Documents Review and Management Committee and the board of the Greater Minneapolis Crisis Nursery.
Ms. Cooper Boyd holds a Bachelor of Arts in political science and sociology from Bucknell and a Juris Doctor from the University of Pennsylvania School of Law. Cheryl and her husband, Joel, have three adult children.
