2022 Race Expo and Packet Pickup 

Pick Up Date: Saturday, August 13, 10:00 am 4:00 pm

Location: 4955 W Lake Nokomis Pkwy, Minneapolis, MN 55417

Packet Pickup Policy

  • You must be present to pick up your packet. Other people may not pick up your packet for you.
  • All participants must show photo ID at packet pickup.
  • Minors (age 11-17) must be accompanied by a parent or guardian to pick up their packet. If you have questions about this, please email triathlon@ywcampls.org before packet pickup.
  • Race day packet pick up is discouraged, but available for $30 with your registration.
  • Payment for Race Day Pickup is required if you do not pick up your packet or you do not opt to have your packet mailed. If you have not paid for Race Day Packet Pickup, you will not be able to get your packet on race day without paying $50. No exceptions.

5:00 am

Volunteer and spectator bike corral OPENS

5:45 - 7:45 am

Transition area, timing chip pick-up, bag check opens. We strongly encourage you to arrive early (5:45 am), drop your bike at your transition spot and proceed directly to pick up your timing chip. Lines become very long between 6:30 - 7:30 am.

7:45 am

Transition area CLOSES

8:00 am

Pre-race meeting (you will NOT be able to return to the transition area)

8:10 - 9:20 am

Swim starts (swim wave information will be sent the week of August 8)

9:15 am

Post-race food begins

11:00 am

Transition area reopens (approximate time)

11:45 am

Awards and raffle prizes (after final finisher)

1:00 pm

Transition area closes (all personal items must be claimed by this time)

PLEASE NOTE: In case of severe weather, the race may be delayed by up to 2 hours or the course may be altered. On the rare occasion that conditions become too dangerous, the race may be canceled.

Course and Venue

Transition Area

  • You will be assigned a number to place your equipment at a bike rack. (i.e., if you are number 14, you will be on the rack with the 13-24 number range).
  • Please hang your bike by the seat
  • The wheel down side is your side of the rack
  • You may mark your spot with balloons or other items, but they must not interfere with racers

Swim

  • Sprint Swim is 500 yards (SuperSprint is 200 yards)
  • Swim course is a rectangle beginning at the public swim area
  • Team Forward fundraiser wave goes first, followed by time trial starts of the Aquabike, Relay, age group, buddy and SuperSprint participants
  • Sprint participants will start five racers every several seconds
  • SuperSprint participants will start five racers every several seconds (buddies may start together)
  • Aquabike participants will start five racers every serveral seconds
  • Wetsuits are allowed per USAT rules
  • All swimmers are given a swim cap they must wear while swimming

Bike

  • Sprint Bike is 15.5 miles
  • Aquabike is 15.5 miles
  • SuperSprint is 7 miles
  • Along Lake Nokomis and Minnehaha Parkway

Run

  • Sprint Run is 5k/3.1 mile (SuperSprint is 1 mile)
  • Run circles Lake Nokomis counter-clockwise
