YWCA Minneapolis is applying for 21st Century Community Learning Centers grant funds from the Minnesota Department of Education (MDE). This announcement serves as public notice of our intent to apply. Our application, in partnership with Minneapolis Public Schools, is in support of the YWCA Midtown Learning Center. The Center provides culturally-responsive out-of-school-time programs that meet the needs of local, underserved youth in grades 3 – 12.

MDE makes this funding available to all eligible entities to support the creation or expansion of community learning centers that provide academic enrichment opportunities during non-school hours for young people, particularly students who attend high-poverty and low-performing schools. The term of the initial grant period is anticipated to be from September 1, 2019 – August 31, 2022.
