National Teacher Appreciation Week is celebrated during the first full week in May of each year. We cannot possibly express how much we appreciate our early childhood teachers and staff in just one week, but we will try to fit in as much celebration and gratitude as possible!

To honor our teachers this week, we are sharing some of the positive words we’ve received over the last several months from parents who truly value YWCA Minneapolis Early Childhood Education teachers in their children’s lives. Continue reading below to hear what they have to share.

“Safe and in Good Hands”

We feel our child is safe and in good hands with the staff and teachers at YWCA Minneapolis. Our son loves all his teachers and is excited on Sunday night when he gets to go to school again on Monday. That makes us feel confident as parents that our son is receiving great high-quality care. We appreciate the teachers’ dedication to the children. Ms. Mary Beth sends us weekly emails informing us of new happenings in the classroom and keeps us posted on any changes. All of the teachers in his classroom genuinely care about the children. We appreciate how patient and gentle they are with all the children.

“Personal Attention to Every Child”

Our son loved his teachers. It is hard to recall even a day when we had to convince him to go to school at YWCA. Even today, he misses his teachers and enjoys meeting them whenever he goes with us to pick up his sister. He especially enjoyed the art projects and the personal attention that is given to every child at YWCA. Our daughter also loves her teachers. Though she doesn’t speak yet, her smile says it all.

“They Even Talk About Their Teachers At Home”

The teachers are great! They are nice and patient with both me and my children. They take time to answer all of my questions, and I love to watch them interact with my children. My kids even talk about their teachers while they are at home. I know the teachers have a big influence on their education and manners. They are also helping to potty-train my son. I appreciate the teachers and staff at the Children’s Centers at Hubbs so much.

“Supportive, Caring and Compassionate”

Our children would say that their teachers are supportive, caring, compassionate and respectful of them as individuals. The teachers support our children’s growth by managing behavior promptly and providing us with quarterly honest feedback so that we can encourage good behavior at home. The teachers have taught our kids letters, numbers and how to follow the rules – they are well prepared for kindergarten!
