How did you first learn about YWCA Minneapolis?

After relocating to Minneapolis from Los Angeles, we began searching for day care facilities that were conveniently located close to both home and work – YWCA Minneapolis was one of the locations that came up on a web search for us. Growing up, my family had always been members and I like their focus on creating a family-friendly facility.

Why did you decide to enroll your children in YWCA Minneapolis child care?

Given we had just moved from Los Angeles, we thought it was important to continue to be intentional about exposing our daughter to a broad spectrum of cultures and people. We were excited when we read about the YWCA Early Childhood Education’s commitment to an anti-bias and anti-racism curriculum. We also love the location is convenient to public transportation (the light rail).

Why do you continue to be a part of the YWCA?

The YWCA Early Childhood Education administrators and teachers are wonderful and they care so much about each child and their success. We continuously marvel at how much the children and families thrive in their care and how they create a learning environment that is welcoming to all.YWCA’s fitness center staff are welcoming, the facilities are well-maintained and I love the diversity of the members. The Kids Zone facility is also a remarkable amenity for parents who continue to want to meet their fitness goals and have small children.

How do you use your fitness membership? What are your favorite parts?

After dropping off our daughter at her Early Childhood Education classroom, I work out four to five times a week. I love the pool and I enjoy seeing and chatting with familiar faces before and after workouts with other regulars. This week, we even solved the great mystery of where our neighbor goes some mornings on the light rail – she is also a YWCA member!

What is your child’s favorite part about coming to YWCA?

She loves her teachers and her friends. The emphasis on learning, fine and large muscle development (they get so much outdoor time!), art, reading, plus the wonderful meals make her excited to be there every day. And the fastest way to get her out of the house in the morning is to remind her that it is "swimming day" at YWCA!LEARN MORE ABOUT YWCA EARLY CHILDHOOD EDUCATIONSCHEDULE A VISIT
