YWCA Minneapolis Celebrates National Teacher Appreciation Week

Teacher Appreciation Week was celebrated by all of our six YWCA Minneapolis Children’s Centers, May 2 - 6. This week is an opportunity for teachers to hear from the families and each other how valued they are.

Deby Ziesmer, Vice President of Early Childhood Education, Beth Lillevold, Director of Operations and Paula Landis, Curriculum Director created Coffee gift bags for each teacher and leadership team member. The note thanked teachers for all they do and was happily given and received!

At the Midtown Children’s Center a special treat was created for teachers every day. One special moment was a potluck for teachers allowing them to take a break from their day to enjoy some great food.

Downtown Children's Center parents served teachers a special ice cream party as one way to say thank you for all their wonderful work.

At the YWCA Minneapolis Children's Center at Abbott Northwestern Hospital location, the leadership team (Cheryl, Jenaya and BreAnn) created a special event each day for families and staff from thank-you notes to teachers to a very special flower basket created by the children for each of the teachers.

EcoLab Children’s Center celebrated with gifts for every teacher. One teacher wrote a special thank you to Robin, Center Director, and Becky, Assistant Director."Teacher Appreciation Week had fun in store.Each day was showered in gifts galore!M & M’s were such a delicious treat.For ‘marvelous’  ‘magnificent’ teachers who are so neat. Our memos will hang on our new clips with ease. We’ll be so organized, if you please.Popcorn, soda and chocolate; so resplendent! For special teachers, just like the president!On Friday we were honored with a fantastic BBQ. Robin and Becky we all truly THANK YOU!

The Hubbs Children’s Center also honored their great teachers with a coffee and muffin day, lunch from Chipotle, fruit and yogurt parfaits, and treats like lotion and lip balm. In each gift there was also a special poem that expressed how much the teacher’s work means to Zebune, Center Director, and Mignon, Assistant Director.

The team at General Mills Infant Care Center took time to write two words that describe their center – Love, Care and Fun were the predominate theme. Whitney, the Director, made a poster for the staff room and magnets for each room to remind teachers of how wonderful they all are.
