Kim Ford

Kim Ford is a freelance artist, educator and mother of three children. She holds a B.A. in American Studies from Yale University. Her pluralistic art reflects her eclectic upbringing in New York, Spain and London. While raising three children in New England, Seattle and the Midwest she turned her creativity into a professional career. Her artistic work has found an audience around the Twin Cities and the United States, featuring a museum exhibit, larger-than-life puppets, theatre props and community outreach.

From 2004-2014, Ms. Ford worked at The Blake School both as a lower school teacher for three years and as a props coordinator for the lower and high school for eleven years. She brought her art and energy to the youth around the Twin Cities through volunteering with Free Arts, the Minneapolis Parks Foundation, the White Bear Center for Arts and JXTA. To further her commitment to the arts in the community, she has served on the Board of Stages Theatre Company and The White Bear Center for Arts. In 2016, she was the lead production artist on Christopher Lutter-Gardell’s, Wolf and Moose, the winner of the Minneapolis Creative City Challenge Art Project.

For the past four years, her work has focused on being a props mistress for the University of
Minnesota Fall and Spring Opera Productions, collaborating on 3 Stages Theater production, the Luminary Loppet and Art Shanties.
