CBS Minnesota Features YWCA Power Girls! Workshop

CBS Minnesota featured a story about a YWCA workshop which educated and introduced middle school girls to the construction trades and learn about this non-traditional career path. Each girl worked side by side with local Twin Cities’ tradeswomen to learn about carpentry, pipefitting, commercial painting, electricity, how to tile and grout, and handle power tools as they construct a project to take home. Approximately 40 professional tradeswomen – apprentice, journey level and retired - worked with the girls, sharing about their trade and the personal story their career.View Story
