Governor Proclaims Thursday, Oct. 18, 2022 "It's Time to Talk Day"

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:(St. Paul, Minn.) – In honor of the extraordinary endeavor by YWCA Minneapolis to further its mission to eliminate racism, Minnesota Governor Tim Walz has proclaimed Oct. 18 as "It's Time to Talk Day," recognizing the organization's annual event marking a coming together of the community to participate in critical dialogue to dismantle systems and structures of oppression.

This year's event, heralded as the 20th Annual It's Time to Talk: Forums on Race™ will feature keynote speaker Angela Davis. The event is a precursor to "It's Time to Act," continuation of this forum series in which action steps founded in discussion are realized.
