YWCA Minneapolis Selects Vice President of Human Resources

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:(Minneapolis, Minn.) –  Julie Schlueter Engen will join YWCA Minneapolis as the Vice President of Human Resources effective Monday, Oct. 24. Engen comes to this senior leadership post with more than two decades of experience in the field of human resources. As Vice President of HR, she will tap into that expertise to lead the HR team and all HR functions, in support of nurturing a strong, positive employee-employer work culture dedicated to the mission of achieving racial and gender justice.

Engen’s depth of Human Resources acumen comes from experiences working for family-owned, public and private businesses including director-level tenures at Stein Industries, Diversified Distribution Systems and Aspect Automation. Throughout her HR career, which she began in 1997, Julie acquired skills in planning, organizing and directing crucial aspects of HR including recruitment and retention, total compensation, talent management and development, compliance,  employee relations and payroll. She also gained experience in mergers and acquisitions, oversight of facilities, sales and marketing.St. Olaf College is Engen's alma mater where she earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in English and Public Speaking. Julie resides in the Mounds View-New Brighton area with her husband, Gary.###
