YWCA Welcomes Jessie Hendel as Chief Program Officer

YWCA Minneapolis is pleased to announce that Jessie Hendel will join our team as chief program officer. Jessie brings over 20 years of experience in the nonprofit sector in the Twin Cities. Before joining YWCA Minneapolis, Jessie led the social services division (called Advantage Services) at CommonBond Communities, a provider of affordable housing with supportive services. Jessie’s expertise includes youth services, senior programs focusing on health and wellness classes, employment services, and early childhood programs. Jessie is skilled at developing and fostering partnerships and overseeing programs where volunteers are a core element of the delivery model.

Prior to CommonBond Communities, Jessie coordinated family services at Tubman Family Alliance. In this capacity, she developed and implemented programs and services working with the entire family system after an experience of violence. Jessie also has practice providing and managing youth out-of-school-time activities at local YMCAs.Jessie is passionate about equitable access to high-quality services for all community members. She has been actively involved in policy and practice innovations to lower housing barriers and is a board member for the Minnesota Coalition for the Homeless. Jessie also serves as the board president for Relate Counseling Center, a provider of mental health services in the West Metro.Jessie is a licensed independent social worker and holds a master of social work from the University of Minnesota, focusing on human services administration.
