DONATE TO THE EMERGENCY FUND

We hope you and your family are well. While we continue to comply with the governor’s stay-at-home order with temporary closures of some of our facilities and our programs through at least May 18, we look forward to reopening when we are able to safely do so and will update you as we learn more. The safety and well-being of our community remain our top priority. As a result, and after careful deliberation, we have decided to cancel this year’s Women’s Triathlon. However, in the spirit of staying connected while physically apart, we are excited to announce our first-ever virtual Summer Tri Fest! Stay motivated, connected and safe this summer by creating your very own, personalized triathlon, duathlon or aquabike challenge beginning June 1 – August 9. This is your chance to compete on your schedule, preferred course and distance. And everyone is welcome. Race individually or create a virtual racing team with friends and family, complete your personalized challenge and join us for a virtual celebration. Stay tuned for details on how to register.Of course, those who have already registered for this year’s Women’s Triathlon have the option to defer their registration to 2021, receive a partial refund or convert their registration to a donation to support YWCA Minneapolis during this crucial time.Beginning this month, we are no longer charging membership dues while our fitness facilities remain closed. Fitness memberships will remain active and we will notify members before we resume charging monthly membership fees. As a nonprofit organization, we have significant financial challenges due to COVID-19. We appreciate the overwhelming support received from members over the past several weeks. Your support means everything to us. If you would like to continue paying your monthly dues please email us at ywca@ywcampls.org. Please also consider making a tax-deductible contribution to our Emergency Fund. Any amount helps. As we plan for the near future, we continue to support essential workers with child care services at our Abbott Northwestern Hospital, Ecolab and Midtown Early Childhood Education Centers. And innovative virtual fitnessgirls and youth and racial justice and public policy programming help keep our community connected and engaged during this time.Thank you for your ongoing support of our work to eliminate racism, empower women and promote peace, justice, freedom and dignity for all. We look forward to seeing you again soon.DONATE TO THE EMERGENCY FUND
