We could not be more excited to have you join Capella University and the Capella Fellows Program." --Barbara Butts Williams, Ph.D.In sharing the news of her acceptance, DaVonna posted to her LinkedIn account:

I will build my expertise in advanced strategy at the executive level further driving the change needed in my community.I never thought I would be pursuing education beyond a Bachelor’s degree, but God did! I am proud to continue being a torchbearer for my family and community. Nothing can stop me!" #blackwomenlead #highereducation #blackexcellence

Additionally, DaVonna expressed gratitude to YWCA Minneapolis leadership.

"Thank you for fostering an environment that promotes staff advancement. I do not take this lightly."

In extending the scholarship opportunity, Capella University stated its mission is to provide a direct path between learning and employment.

"But we don’t want to stop there: we believe in giving back by changing lives where we work and live. This program is our investment in helping to build the talent and leadership skills required to mitigate the educational, social, economic, health or racial inequalities in your community." ---Capella University
