Try Our New R.I.P.P.E.D. Class to Change and Define Your Body

I am excited to have R.I.P.P.E.D. classes at the YWCA of Minneapolis. R.I.P.P.E.D. is probably the most difficult class we have on the schedule. It's a total body, high-intensity class, utilizing free weights, resistance and body weight. The class masterfully combines its components -- Resistance, Intervals, Power, Plyometrics and Endurance -- as the workout portion, along with diet suggestions to help you attain and maintain your physique in ways that are fun, safe, doable and extremely effective. R.I.P.P.E.D. will absolutely challenge your levels of fitness and endurance.
Why R.I.P.P.E.D? Resistance gives you the muscle tone and strength that you need. High-intensity Intervals will spike your heart rate and then let it recover, which is important and effective. Power incorporates a lot of strength. Plyometrics is great for sports conditioning, balance and coordination. Endurance is sustaining your heart rate at a certain rate for a period of time. And Diet is an important component for any healthy lifestyle.Strength Training is the "Frosting." Some women are concerned about bulking up when they do a workout with weights. I have been hearing that for years! This is what I like to tell women: strength training, or weightlifting, is the icing on your cake, as far as I am concerned. We all have a beautiful cake. Most of us love a little frosting. This contributes to having lean muscle, which means you are going to burn more calories. That is where the diet portion of R.I.P.P.E.D. works as well. You want to have muscle. You want to have lean muscle. That means you want to burn the fat, but you also want muscle. I love strength training for women! I love it!Get the Challenge You are Craving. R.I.P.P.E.D. will give you an opportunity to challenge yourself. The class is choreographed and by repeating the moves, you will get better and better. It is not a class for beginners or the faint of heart. Remember, you can start out with light weights, feel it and get the movements down. It's going to offer you a cardio component. And you can always modify. I encourage you to try the class if you have at least one of the R.I.P.P.E.D. components down. This is My New Favorite Workout. R.I.P.P.E.D. stands for everything you need in a workout. I developed my own acronym. I think the "R" stands for Results-Driven. You will see results after taking the class for two to three weeks. The "I" stands for Inspirational. I try to make classes fun. I tend to be very engaging and push others toward success. I will often look class members in the eyes and say, "I know you can do this and you know you can do this." I just love to watch them smile. "P" stands for Performance. The other "P" represents Powerful. "E" is for Empowered. I think R.I.P.P.E.D. empowers every participant who takes it. And, the "D" is for Dynamic. I like to plant these thoughts as a seed for all of my students, because those are all of the things I want in my journey as a woman. The YWCA of Minneapolis is committed to bringing out the best in its members. The years I've taught group fitness number in the double digits, and I have found that if you like to play hard, this class is very refreshing. If you are not in the best of shape, R.I.P.P.E.D. allows you to grow. It really is inspirational. You may have to modify when you start, but each week will get better and better. While I love to empower men, there is no greater reward for me in my job then empowering women. That's why I love the YWCA.
