Wednesday, March 8 was both International Women’s Day and a national “Day Without A Woman." More than 100 children, teachers, staff and parents marched indoors at their Early Childhood Education centers to recognize the enormous value that women of all backgrounds add to our socio-economic system--while receiving lower wages and experiencing greater inequities, vulnerability to discrimination, sexual harassment, and job insecurity.5 Eyewitness News featured the children, teachers and staff who marched inside YWCA Minneapolis to raise awareness for gender equality in the workforce.
