Five New Directors Join YWCA Minneapolis Board
Sara Ahluwalia – Community Volunteer
Ms. Ahluwalia began serving as President Elect on the Breck Parents’ Association Board in the summer of 2015. She began her term as President of that Board in April 2016. Sara served as Corresponding Secretary from 2009 – 2010 and Fundraising Chair from 2010 – 2011 on the Junior League of Charlottesville’s board. Previous to her work as a community volunteer, Sara was a legal consultant with R.V.I Group and an Associate at Willkie, Farr and Gallagher. Ms. Ahluwalia’s other volunteer work includes Children’s Theatre Company and Junior League of Minneapolis. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Virginia and a Juris Doctor from Columbia University School of Law. Ms. Ahluwalia resides in Edina with her husband and their three children.
Danielle Marie Clarke – Community Volunteer
Ms. Clarke currently serves as the Community Engagement Coordinator, St. Mark's Cathedral. Ms. Clarke served at the Office of Warrior Care Policy, Office of Secretary of Defense from 2013 – 2016. She also served as the Mental Health Group Facilitator, Northern Virginia Family Services from 2011 – 2013; a Psychology Instructor at the University of Maryland University College Asia, and an English Instructor at the National Defense Academy of Japan. Ms. Clarke currently serves on the board of Illusion Theater. Ms. Clarke’s other volunteer work includes USO Warrior and Family Care Center Volunteer, Navy Supply Corp Spouses Association and Red Cross Volunteer. Ms. Clarke holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Education from California State University Long Beach, a Master of Arts in Counseling Psychology from Bowie State University and a Certificate in Teaching English as a Second Language (TESOL) from California State University San Marcos.
Angela Davis Drew – News Anchor at WCCO-TV
Ms. Davis has been an anchor at WCCO-TV since 2006. She anchors the Sunday evening newscasts and reports for the 5 pm and 6 pm newscasts during the week. Ms. Davis previously anchored the morning and noon newscasts. Prior to joining WCCO-TV, Ms. Davis was a news anchor at KSTP-TV from 1999 – 2005. Ms. Davis has served on the board of directors at Twin Cities Academy since 2014. She is a member of the National Association of Black Journalists and Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated. Ms. Davis volunteers in the community with the following organizations, Lovin’ the Skin I’m In, ThreeSixty Journalism and World Press Institute. In addition, she regularly serves as master of ceremonies for community events. Ms. Davis holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Journalism from the University of Maryland. Ms. Davis resides in St. Paul with her husband and two children.
Jennifer Laible – President, Antenna Consulting
As President of Antenna Consulting, Ms. Laible leads all aspects of the business, and continues to work with clients and consultants across Antenna’s project consulting, interim leadership and staff augmentation service offerings. In addition, she will take on an expanded role in defining and executing the next chapter of growth for Antenna, focused on its core mission of helping people do work they love. Prior to joining Antenna in 2013, Ms. Laible served in leadership roles at Fortune 100 companies such as Best Buy, Allstate and American Express with a focus in strategy and business development. Ms. Laible was selected as a 2017 Women in Business Award winner by Minneapolis/St. Paul Business Journal. Ms. Laible’s volunteer works includes serving on the Hopkins Education Foundation Board and the local board for the Network of Executive Women, Twin Cities’ chapter. Ms. Laible holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business with a major in Finance from the University of Minnesota and a Master of Business Administration from Carlson School of Management. Ms. Laible and her husband reside in Golden Valley with their two sons.
Margaret Andrea Wood – Community Relations Director, Best Buy
Margaret Andrea Wood serves as the Community Relations Director at Best Buy where she drives Best Buy’s internal and external reputation as a responsible corporate citizen through the development and implementation of strategic corporate social responsibility programs. Prior to joining Best Buy in 2011, Ms. Wood worked at Target Corporation for six years in the areas of community relations and internal communications. Prior to joining Target Corporation she served as the manager of Corporate Communications at Travelers Insurance in St. Paul for five years. Ms. Wood currently serves on the board of The Clubhouse Network, Boston Museum of Science and is a member of the GenNext Leadership Council. Past volunteer work includes serving as a board member with HandsOn Twin Cities, Midwest Art Conservation Center, Minneapolis Institute of Arts and the Sexual Violence Center. Ms. Wood holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in English Literature from Kalamazoo College and a Master of Arts in Public Affairs from University of Minnesota’s Humphrey Institute of Public Affairs.Editor’s Note: Click here for a complete list of current YWCA Board of Directors.
