KARE 11 Features YWCA Children's March to Celebrate International Women's Day

Wednesday, March 8 was both International Women’s Day and a national “Day Without A Woman." More than 100 children, teachers, staff and parents marched indoors at their Early Childhood Education centers to recognize the enormous value that women of all backgrounds add to our socio-economic system--while receiving lower wages and experiencing greater inequities, vulnerability to discrimination, sexual harassment, and job insecurity.KARE 11 News was covering how different organizations across the Twin Cities were celebrating International Women's Day  and the "Day Without A Woman" strike. KARE 11 visited YWCA Minneapolis Downtown Children's Center to watch the children march and also interview YWCA Minneapolis President and CEO Luz María Frías.
